Coloring on your clothes was the goal at the Mississaugi First Nation color walk for hepatitis C in September 2023.
The healthcare team set up interactive tables at checkpoints along a designated walking route through the community and as people walked the route wearing supplied white t-shirts they engaged in trivia questions, informational games, picked up awareness resources and were sprayed with color paints.
This created a fun, interactive, creative and movement-based activity out on the land where everyone was a winner. Keeping the brightly colored t-shirt provided a take home reminder of the important role of the liver and the vibrant value it brings to our lives, as well as facts about the hepatitis C virus, it’s cure and how easy it is to get screened.
