Day 1: Education, Activities &
Community Connection

The first day focused on creating a welcoming and engaging space
for learning. Community members participated in educational
sessions about Hepatitis C, including how it is transmitted,
prevented, and treated. To keep things interactive, we included
games and trivia, which encouraged participation and helped
reinforce key messages in a fun and approachable way.
The atmosphere was positive and inclusive, with great
conversations and shared learning throughout the day. The evening
concluded with a community supper, giving everyone a chance to
connect over a meal, followed by door prizes that added excitement
and appreciation for those who attended.

Day 2: Testing & One-on-One
Support

On the second day, we shifted our focus to care and access by
setting up a clinic at the Jane Mattinas Health Centre. Community
members were able to receive confidential Hepatitis C testing in a
safe and supportive environment.
In addition to testing, one-on-one education was offered, allowing
individuals to ask questions, discuss concerns, and receive
personalized information. This approach helped create a space
where people felt comfortable seeking knowledge and support at
their own pace.

Building Awareness & Supporting
Community Health

This two-day event highlighted the importance of combining education with accessible healthcare services. By offering both group learning and individual  support, we were able to meet people where they are and encourage informed decision-making around Hepatitis C.
We are grateful to everyone who participated, as well as the staff and organizers who helped make this event a success. Initiatives like this continue to strengthen community awareness, reduce stigma, and improve access to care.
Moreover, we are grateful for our ongoing partnership with Constance Lake. We can’t wait for our next event in the coming summers.
